The tragic demise of Chatta's son makes it the second time in less than a week that a Nollywood actor has lost a child.
The 54-year-old actor posted the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page on Saturday, claiming that God's will was to blame.
With the description, "Inna Lillahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun," he posted a picture of the deceased. All things are known to you, Ya Allah. Rest in peace, my dear son, champion.
This loss is not the first time Chatta has gone through it. In an interview conducted in June, he disclosed that his first kid, a baby girl, passed away as a result of poverty and inadequate access to healthcare.
Malik isn't my first child. My first child passed away. Recalling how he walked across Lagos to seek money for treatment but received assistance too late, he recalled, "My first child was buried in a crate of Coke, the old wooden crate of Coke."
With Chatta's son's untimely death, a Nollywood star has lost a child for the second time in less than a week.
Ayomikun, the actor's senior coworker Peju Ogunmola's son, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
The only child of Peju Ogunmola and her husband, Omobolanle Sunday, is Ayomikun, who is 24 years old.
The family swiftly confirmed in a statement that Ayomikun passed away in Ibadan following a brief illness, and he has since been buried, despite earlier rumors that he died in the US in a restroom accident.
In a Tuesday Instagram post, actress Biola Adebayo revealed the awful loss and called it "devastating and heartbreaking."
"This is a significant loss. This is awful and devastating. It's tragic.
May Mummy Peju Ogunmola, who recently lost her only child, find peace in the Almighty God.
She wrote, "May God Almighty be with the family and loved ones during this difficult time."
